My Top 10 List of Favorite Songs

Posted on January 31, 2008 at 2:55 PM in General

While there are literally hundreds of songs that you'll hear me say "this is one of my favorites!" about, and thousands more that I can be heard saying "I love this song!" about, there are only 10 that are good enough to make it on this list.

So, without further ado, here, in no particular order, is the Quack Top 10:

  1. Lord Is It Mine (Supertramp) (iTunes) (Amazon)

    The ultimate depression song

  2. How Many Friends? (The Who) (iTunes) (Amazon)

The ultimate "truth about 'friends'" song

  3. Nothing Else Matters (Metallica) (iTunes) (Amazon)

The greatest love song ever written, bar none

  4. And So It Goes (Billy Joel) (iTunes) (Amazon)

The ultimate "lay it all on the line" song

  5. A Man I'll Never Be (Boston) (iTunes) (Amazon)

The ultimate "okay, let me be honest with you and with myself" song

  6. For Crying Out Loud (Meat Loaf) (iTunes) (Amazon)

This one is so complex and so deep, I don't know how to put it into words

  7. A Matter of Trust (Billy Joel) (iTunes) (Amazon)

Trust: the most important piece of any relationship

  8. Behind Blue Eyes (The Who) (iTunes) (Amazon)

Sometimes I wonder how Pete knew me so well

  9. The Real Me (The Who) (iTunes) (Amazon)

I often laugh at how well other people think they know the real me, yet they do not

  10. You're My Home (Billy Joel) (iTunes) (Amazon)

    Material things are so inconsequential

I don't know if I can name 10, but I most certainly can name what would be #1 on my list:

Bad(live) - U2 - Wide Awake in America
